Ruben Amorim is the new head coach of AC Milan, signing a three-year deal, and he has made it clear that two players will be essential to his project.
On Tuesday evening, Milan announced the appointment of Amorim as the replacement of Massimiliano Allegri, ending a very tiresome casting process. However, as there is no management in place, the troubles have certainly continued for Milan.

Nevertheless, Amorim has been talking to the figures that are in the management (such as Massimo Calvelli and Jovan Kirovski) about the mercato business. In fact, there is no time to waste for the Portuguese manager, even if the dynamics are a little off.
Two unsellable players
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo at the bottom), there are two players who are considered essential for Amorim’s project: Strahinja Pavlovic and Christian Pulisic. Indeed, the manager has already made that very clear.
You could definitely argue that Pavlovic was Milan’s best defender in the 2025-26, certainly growing into his role in the three-man backline, and Pulisic speaks for himself. The second half of the season may not have been fantastic, but he was devastating in the first half.
In terms of signing, Amorim has requested two defenders, a left-winger, an attacking midfielder/winger, and a centre-forward. The last position, in particular, appears to be the primary demand of the new Rossoneri manager.
Left winger or a left back? Two defenders – two CB? Why would R.A. ask for both a winger and an AMC?
What about (a) new midfielder(s)? Two defenders of which one is a left wing back, I truly hope. Maignan- ??? (De Winter), Gabbia ?, Pavlovic- Alexis, ???, Rabiot, ???- Pulisic, ???, ??? (3-4-3) or ???, Pulisic- ??? (3-4-2-1);
DC, L(W)B, MC, AMC or LW, SC = FIVE NEW PLAYERS;
yes revolt 5 new players. we need to sell and give the coach what he needs. its the only way we can be competitive on the field. we dont need another alegri season please. if they had given him a decent striker even temporary we might have gotten champies..
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against five new players- on the contrary, I actually think that’s a bare minimum required.
Best case scenario – one on of them will work with Amorim. Pavlov is good in a three-man defense anyway, but who cares about that, a big offer would tempt the clowns to sell him and Amorim’s opinion would be the last thing on their mind.

In midfield he needs 3 strong players. Similar to Rabiot.
Basically got to keep Rabiot. Jashari and Ricci on bench.
Modric with Bennacer out and Fofana + Ruben Loftus sale.
Bondo and Musah on loan.
In 3 4 3 he can use bartesaghi and sale as left midfielder and right midfield. But their better positions should be: bartesaghi back up for pavlovic, Saelemaekers back up for left or right wing.
Pulisic and Leao stay, also with Chukwueze and sale of Santi Gimenez.
Basically Milan must invest 150 million again. On 2 strong midfielders, central forward and centre back, and possible back ups.
Where they are going to find money?
20 million Europa league. 20 million Fofana plusvalenza. 5 million bennacer and 5 million Ruben Loftus. 5 million estupinan. That’s 45. For 150 million mercato they need 60 million plusvalenza more.

Currently in Milan team you have a lot of overpriced players which value on market significantly dropped. No one would buy for example Leao for even 20 million and you have owner who would not invest euro of his money for new arrivals.
Only way for club to bring new one are sale. And as I wrote this club doesn’t have a lot of players for sale.

Been years since I have played Football Manager myself but using that as a sort of demeaning assessment of peoples football knowledge sorta comes off a bit silly. Why ? Football clubs has actually deals with the devs/publishers to use it as a scouting tool. Not lying here.
EL will maybe bring us more than 20 million euros but what would we achieve by sending Musah on another loan ? Sell him as well if you don’t wanna keep the guy. You have some interesting points & suggestions, I must admit and hand it to you, this could actually work.
Tell me how we will move forward when we keep on changing formation ,keep on changing coach and no quality players to play that formation

Yes to ll those reasons but also he is one of your best players….even though he’s American which I guess matters to you. I guess it’s hard for you to look past race or ethnicity and nd see a footballer for who they are. I feel sorry for you
Yah, but Pulisic doesn’t care about the fact that RedBird are an American company. If he is excited for the arrival of Amorim after a bad spell in the last 6 months and (and even bigger) IF there aren’t any good offers on the table, then he may stay, but I’m very doubtful. I’m seeing at the very least 2 among Leao, Rabio, Mike and Puli leaving.
All I’m saying is that Amorim should line up an attacking 4-2-3-1 let him not play 3-4-3 because it won’t work.

Maybe everyone can wait until Milan begins taking actual shape? Otherwise it’s just a guessing game.
