The ideal signing for AC Milan in January would be Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, but there are plenty of other options that can be pursued when the window opens.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the Rossoneri are in the midst of a defensive crisis with both Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino set for months on the sidelines.
It has been made clear to Stefano Pioli and the club that they need to bring in a central defender who can be of immediate use to the team in January, rather than somebody inexperienced who needs time to settle in.
The ideal profile could be that of Jakub Kiwior, who Arsenal brought for €25 million from Spezia last January, but who has only made three appearances in 2023-24. A loan deal may be what suits Milan and Arsenal quite nicely, as well as the player.
In mid-September, Geoffrey Moncada was spotted in Monza for the match between the hosts and Federico Baschirotto’s Lecce, but Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth is also an option, along with Lille’s Tiago Djalo who used to be on Milan’s books.
Closer to home, there is Radu Dragusin who has impressed with Genoa since he left Juventus, but Newcastle are also looking at the Romanian. He could be hard to sign from both a financial perspective and a circumstantial one, as Alberto Gilardino will not want to lose a key player in January.
Count out Baschirotto, he’s italian and we despise that.
Can’t see Baschirotto working out and he will be expensive as he’s the heart of the Lecce defence.
He’s more of an old fashioned CB. Very solid as part of a low block but not quick and I have real concerns with him as part of the higher lines and counterpress we try to play.
I understand there is a need at CB and CF but I feel like we’re going to spend a lot of money in January for a temporary fix which will compromise our ability to sign the players we actually need.
I’d be trying to loan so older heads even if i had to pay small fees for the loans. Unless I can put the 40m together for one of the players needed.

Baschirotto would be good, we already have too many foreigners so the rest a definite no. Plenty of Italian options, Caldirola, Enrico del prato is playing well for Parma, Marchizza good option can cover LB as well, buongiorno, Ferrari…..

Idiotic management, choosing a bunch of cheap imports over our homegrown talents and they are not learning from there mistakes, still looking at cheap foreign options for CB rather than tried and tested Italians.
