GdS: Atalanta win consecrates Milan’s technical-tactical identity – two ‘X Factors’ shine

By Oliver Fisher -

The international break may be upon us, but the Italian media continue to wax lyrical about the way AC Milan have begun the season.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), talks about a Milan who are ‘in constant growth’ thanks to the development of the talented young players that they have, which Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara deserve credit for spotting but also Stefano Pioli for enhancing all his players.

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains a pivotal part of the dressing room and he can be decisive when he players, Milan are no longer dependant on him to carry them, meaning he can recover and work with more calm.

The victory in Bergamo consecrated Pioli’s game and that technical-tactical identity on which the coach has been working for almost two years, with the paper even claiming the Rossoneri are ahead of Napoli at present in terms of style.

Then there is the talent, but particular attention should be paid to Brahim Diaz and to Rafael Leao, as the Spaniard and the Portuguese are the ‘X Factor’ of the current team given how much they create.
