GdS: Begovic, Rebic and Ibrahimovic – the IC factor key for AC Milan’s European hopes

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s objective is to qualify for Europe for next season, and they will be counting on three players in order to do just that.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli will rely on his best possible formation against Genoa barring the goalkeeper, which will be Asmir Begovic over the injured Gianluigi Donnarumma.

A victory would be vital for AC Milan’s European ambitions and a lot will rest on the three “ICs”, a goalkeeper and two forwards. Zlatan is now a landmark. He has taken advantage of the last two weeks without games to recharge his batteries and today he will try to lead the team in the deserted San Siro.

Rebic is the man of the moment: he has scored six times in the last six league games, with a fantastic average of one goal every 71 minutes.

Begovic will also try to make his contribution. If Milan come out of the match against Genoa with the three points in their pocket, it means that, most likely, the Bosnian goalkeeper will have done his job.

Pioli, who had the opportunity to appreciate his quality and personality in the previous match against Fiorentina, is calm because he is in safe hands. Asmir has the opportunity to try to convince the Rossoneri leadership to sign him.
