GdS: Benevento game gives a chance Theo and Ibra’s deputies – Dalot and Leao must impress

By Oliver Fisher -

In and among the other sub-plots that will make Benevento vs. Milan an interesting game is the Rossoneri’s Portuguese duo of Diogo Dalot and Rafael Leao.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports, both players are currently considered back-ups when the entire squad is fully fit, something which is not easy given the former is the deputy to Theo Hernandez and the latter slots in for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and/or Ante Rebic.

Against Benevento though the pair will have a big chance to prove themselves with the eyes of the management and the coaching staff watching.

Dalot will act on the left in Hernandez’s place and will have to do better than against Genoa at the Marassi before Christmas, while Leao will act as the centre-forward this evening but will go back to competing with Rebic on the left wing when Ibrahimovic is back.

To really make the management think though, something more like the sparkling 45 minutes against Sparta Praha in the Europa League will be needed, with Dalot assisting Leao’s goal before scoring his own.
