GdS: Bennacer puts Milan first as he expresses desire to join Saudi club – the latest

Ismael Bennacer has expressed a desire to play in Saudi Arabia to the AC Milan management, according to a report. However, the Algerian midfielder will not leave the Rossoneri high and dry, with no intention of forcing a move.

Bennacer has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for several months, but recent reports suggested that he would wait until next summer. However, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), he has expressed a desire to leave this summer.

Having said that, there is one pretty big caveat: Bennacer is very loyal to Milan and has made it clear that it would need to be an important offer. Not just for him, personally speaking, but also for the club and the €50m release clause continues to be the reference.

In other words, the former Empoli man will not force a move to Saudi Arabia and as things stand, the clubs there are yet to open their wallets. The latter could change in the coming weeks, though, and that would force Milan to sign another midfielder.

Yacine Adli is another midfielder who could say goodbye, with concrete interest in Qatar, and Milan have identified Johnny Cardoso and Manu Kone in addition to Youssouf Fofana. All three are valued at €20m, so the Rossoneri could do a lot with €50m from Bennacer.

  1. Wow what a man Benny is if this is true. A real loyal warrior.

I hope he stays but if he wanna leave i understand. ❤🖤❤🖤

  2. Why would he want to go to S. A at his age.
It seems the management want to cash in on him.
It makes no sense for him or the team

    1. Well, it does make sense for him. He’s Muslim, life in SA is closer to the world Benny grew up in, closer to his standards & values.

      1. He is also a athlete. He can live in his Muslim countries after his career. Muhammad knows he’ll have enough money to live wherever the f he wants

        1. That’s true, although in that part of France you’ll find a living Muslim community. He stated before that he is very close to Arab culture and opened up to the idea of playing in SA, this is not new.

But I hope he stays, would be a loss to our club as a player & human being.

    2. Why? For the money, that’s why. Why did Tonali run out the door to Newcastle, for the money.
Get real, that’s why 99.99999% of them play, because they can make generational life-changing money.
For many Saudi Arabia would be a quick no because of the culture, but Bennacer would feel more comfortable there than a non-muslim.

    3. Yep Europe isn’t the center of the world for everyone. Maybe the chance to establish an excellent league outside of Europe is quite appealing to a non-European. I know many of you can’t fathom that ppl nations and leagues outside of Europe are beginning to establish themselves but get ready but euro centrism in football is over

      1. sure it is. China tried and failed. murica is on the same spot as 10-15 years ago. all they get is players way past their peak.
Eu will always be the place to play football in for anyone who has sporting ambition.
Then ofc you add the countries, where do people wanna live? Do we mass migrate out of eu or is it the other way around?

    4. Yes @ SJF, It’s always the management. Always blame management despite what the player himself has said. You’ve got it all figured out.

      1. What has the player said?

Did he say he wanted to give up on his football career and ambitions at 26yo?
I must have missed that story

        1. Do you not even read the headline of the article before commenting?
“Ismael Bennacer has expressed a desire to play in Saudi Arabia to the AC Milan management, according to a report”

          1. “Always blame management despite what the player himself has said”

            So he has said nothing.

There is a “report” that suggests it, with no evidence.
            K

  3. He is our best midfielder alongside Reindjers. He came back from a serious injury last season so its unfair to judge his performance. With proper preseason he is starting to get back to his best. He is like a new signing and we dont have any other similar player in our squad. Expecting a big season from him.

    1. Yes, I think so too. We all have a right to be disappointed at his previous season, but Bennaser is hard working and disciplined, I’m sure he’s working hard to bounce back

  4. If he leaves we will need not one but 2 of Fofana, Cardoso, Florentino,…
He is currently the best midfielder we have from a defensive point of view.

    1. I agree. I just wish that it’s not Folonrusho(or whatever his name is from Napoli) … Especially since Adli seems on his way out and Pobega is just there for the Italian homegrown list.
Reports are emerging that the club are in contact with his entourage.

    1. Nobody forced Tonali. Newcastle offered way more than he is worth and it made sense to sell. Tonali could have refused but he wanted the money to pay off his gambling debts.

  5. Do you understand how contracts work asshole? No player can ever be forced to leave. Tonali was the one who went to Milan and asked to be sold. When they saw the insane amount Newcastle was willing to pay for a slightly above average midfielder (who by the way is also a degenerate gambler) they of course took the deal. Which was a huge help for the team, and if you can’t see that then you are even stupider than you seem.
