GdS: Bennacer puts Milan first as he expresses desire to join Saudi club – the latest

Ismael Bennacer has expressed a desire to play in Saudi Arabia to the AC Milan management, according to a report. However, the Algerian midfielder will not leave the Rossoneri high and dry, with no intention of forcing a move.

Bennacer has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for several months, but recent reports suggested that he would wait until next summer. However, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), he has expressed a desire to leave this summer.

Having said that, there is one pretty big caveat: Bennacer is very loyal to Milan and has made it clear that it would need to be an important offer. Not just for him, personally speaking, but also for the club and the €50m release clause continues to be the reference.

In other words, the former Empoli man will not force a move to Saudi Arabia and as things stand, the clubs there are yet to open their wallets. The latter could change in the coming weeks, though, and that would force Milan to sign another midfielder.

Yacine Adli is another midfielder who could say goodbye, with concrete interest in Qatar, and Milan have identified Johnny Cardoso and Manu Kone in addition to Youssouf Fofana. All three are valued at €20m, so the Rossoneri could do a lot with €50m from Bennacer.
