AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will need Hakan Calhanoglu to be back at his best if the Rossoneri are to emerge victorious in today’s derby.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Calhanoglu has been one of the strengths of Pioli’s Milan in recent months and has shown that he can be a driving force both in terms of goals, assists and his overall link-up play in attack.
The absence of the Turkey international coincided with the absence of another pillar in Ismael Bennacer and that really made the team suffer from a chance creation point of view.
Now Calhanoglu is back, but he’s not yet at 100% condition after suffering with Coronavirus and showing symptoms early on. Pioli, however, needs the best version of his number ten this afternoon in order to topple Conte’s Inter and return to the summit.
