AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will be able to call on a few different players when the Serie A season resumes, according to a report.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday (via MilanNews), there will be chances for ‘the other Milan’ – that being the players who have spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
Pioli expects a change of pace from Rafael Leao, who has struggled a lot so far. In the coming months Rafael will be able to find space and more playing time, possibly alternating with Ante Rebic.
In the position behind the striker, Lucas Paquetà and Giacomo Bonaventura’s will be entrusted to offer goals and assists. The Brazilian has ended up on the fringes after being untouchable under Gattuso, and he could leave in the summer – as could Bonaventura whose deal expires on June 30.
At right-back Conti and Calabria will continue to alternate, with the former Atalanta wide man slightly ahead in the hierarchies. Kjaer, Musacchio, Gabbia and Duarte will play from time to time alongside captain Alessio Romagnoli in the centre of the defence.
Biglia will also be useful in midfield, as will the insertions of Krunic and Saelemaekers.
