GdS: Boban and Maldini set to leave AC Milan as Gazidis remains untouchable

Boban’s words (READ HERE) on the situation at AC Milan inevitably left their mark, although no response arrived from Elliott. However, the Croatian director doesn’t seem to be the only one on the brink.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), there isn’t much room to recover the crack that has emerged within the club. Not only does it concern Boban, but also his close colleague Paolo Maldini.

Boban came out to ask the owners for clarity. After the contacts with Ralf Rangnick, that took place behind their backs, the Croatian didn’t like the fact that the entire technical department was kept in the dark (him and Maldini, plus Ricky Massara).

Divorce at the end of the season appears to be the most likely solution. The relationship simply isn’t there anymore. Furthermore, it’s difficult to image that Maldini can stay after having also lived through Leonardo’s farewell.

Getting CEO Ivan Gazidis and Boban back on the same page remains difficult, and thus the future seems set. The former Arsenal director has a very armoured contract with the club, as well as the owners’ full support.
