GdS: Boban and Maldini studying best way to approach Donnarumma renewal

By Isak Möller -

The games against Sassuolo, for Gigio Donnarumma, will never be like any others. As the two sides face each other this afternoon, it’s impossible not to remember the one four yours ago, when the goalkeeper made his debut.

Since that game, Donnarumma has racked up a total of 156 league appearances (missing only three games), as reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it). In other words, he has been the protagonist of the team.

Amidst it all, the goalkeeper also managed to get himself a new contract at the club, worth €6m per year. This makes him the highest-paid in the Rossoneri squad, which you definitely could argue is fair.

In recent years, per the newspaper, several big clubs have made offers for Donnarumma. However, they have all been returned to the sender. Now, though, the contract which expires in 2021 needs to be renewed.

The meeting with Mino Raiola can’t be postponed forever: Boban and Maldini are currently studying the most effective formula to discuss the renewal, as the report continues, helped by the fact that Donnarumma wants to stay.
