GdS: Brest star stalls on Monaco’s offer – he is waiting for Milan’s move

AC Milan retain an interest in signing Lilian Brassier from Brest, a report claims, and the player would love to make the move over to Italy.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports, Brassier will play for Brest against Montpellier on Sunday while Milan take to the field against Roma at San Siro in a game that is crucial in the top four battle.

If he had the choice, the 24-year-old Frenchman would gladly be at San Siro. Brassier wants to wear the red and black shirt, which is why he is stalling on an offer from Monaco for the time being and is waiting for the Diavolo to make a move.

The interest is clearly reciprocated, even if Milan are also putting things on hold for now. The Ligue 1 club have not yet received any proposal from Italy and the reasons for this stand-by may be different.

Are Milan reflecting on the figures? Yes, because the €10-12m requested by Brest is not an insignificant sum. Are Milan looking around, also evaluating other options? This too is very likely, and the decision to stop the dialogue with Matija Popovic’s agents means a non-EU spot is free.

Then there is a third option, which we can reflect on throughout the transfer market: Theo Hernandez is increasingly convincing as a central defender and is extending the squad in that particular area, while waiting for the return of the three key men.

This is why – if Theo’s performance continue along these levels of reliability – it cannot be ruled out that the search for a new centre-back could be postponed to June.
