GdS: ‘Brink of a nervous breakdown’ – Milan fall into perilous situation again

With the defeat against Fiorentina, AC Milan have fallen into a worrying position. Questions are being directed everywhere, and any clarity and serenity that had been formed since the win against Inter has faded.

It seems like a repeating movie, Milan win an important game, worries are put on hold, positivity is created, and one bad result causes things to come crashing down. Last season we saw it on several occasions with Stefano Pioli, and Paulo Fonseca is already facing his second sit-through of the film.

He is once again being looked at by the management, and the names of other managers are on the table, even if no serious action is ready to be taken yet.

Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that after the defeat against Bayer Leverkusen looked a million miles away from the one in Florence, even if the outcome was the same. In Germany, there were signs of positivity, but back on home soil there was an ‘evident step backwards’.

Tactically, and mentally, the Diavolo looked like a different side, and the win against Inter now only seems like a boost, rather than a sign of Milan’s Scudetto credentials. Now, the effect of that game has gone, and what remains is a team ‘on the brink of a nervous breakdown’ – a very worrying sign.

Fonseca displayed his anger at full-time, and there were several events to cause the frustration. However, whether this will change anything remains to be seen, given there is a two-week gap of silence due to international commitments.

As Gazzetta suggests, there can be some comfort in Matteo Gabbia’s willingness to protect his team, and teammates by speaking after the game. However, is one man’s efforts enough to overturn a nervous breakdown?

  1. on the brink of a nervous breakdown — ??
May be the fans are close to this
Some of the guys in court, don’t seem they care about.
    Interviews, promises, bad management,etc.
When our star player like Rafael Leao looses the ball and doesn’t fight like crazy to get it back, this is
not sign of nervous breakdown it is lazyness.
Just look at their body language!
    What do you expect?
That’s what we are this days

  2. But hey, at least we won against Inter. That’ll keep us warm during the long, cold summer when we’re out of UCL and fighting for the 6th spot with players who are acting like 10-year-olds and wrestling over whose turn it is to shoot a penalty or a free-kick.

The legendary AC Milan. Now a fng kindergarten with no grown-ups to be seen. Not even in the stands.

  3. It’s amusing how the fans who spend most of their time disrespecting the players who are most offended by players disrespecting each other.

    1. It’s amusing you don’t see pictures of the fans on the newspaper’s sport pages or on the internet articles. Amusing is also the salary difference when you compare what the players are given for their “hard” work for the team versus what the fans are paid. Oh right, the fans aren’t being paid – they ARE paying. In fact they’re paying the salary of the “men” on the pitch.

      1. What’s the point of being a fan that hates the players???

Honestly find something else to do. This is just depressing

        1. I hate the players? LOL. Quite the psychoanalyst you are. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Find something else to do? OK. I’ll start commenting on everything you post. I’ll be all over you. Sound good? Depressing? Just wait and see… 🙂

  4. I would really like to see the coach try a formation of 343 with:

    MIKE

    GABBIA PAVLOVIC TOMORI

    JIMINEZ FOFANA TIJJANI THEO

    PULI MORATA LEO
