Club Brugge have reportedly contacted Premier League teams that have shown an interest in Ardon Jashari, attempting to spark an auction involving AC Milan.
When it seemed like Jashari was getting closer to the Rossoneri, following the improved offer for the midfielder, it has almost gone in the opposite direction. While not officially, Club Brugge have more or less rejected the offer for their star, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.

Considering that the new offer is worth €38m with bonuses, and €33.5m without, it’s quite remarkable that Milan aren’t really close to an agreement. Given how this saga has been so far, things could still change but there isn’t exactly loads of optimism.
Brugge hoping for an auction
According to the pink newspaper, when they learned of Milan’s improved offer, Club Brugge immediately ‘contacted interested Premier League clubs’ to set up an auction. The problem is that Jashari only wants a move to San Siro, having rejected the Premier League idea before.
Nevertheless, the Belgian side will do their best to squeeze as much as possible out of the departure of their star. It just remains to be seen if Milan will play the game, i.e. potentially getting involved in an auction, or if they will rescind their offer and move on to other targets.
The decision to spark an auction will likely not go down well with the player, who’s already suffering from ‘low morale’ as his dream move could collapse after so many weeks of negotiating.

Maybe Brugge’s management has some personal issue with Milan, otherwise it is hard to see why they have made things so difficult.
My personal take is that they were somewhat triggered and felt insulted by us on the one hand making a deal with the player before contacting them, essentially putting the player in a tense situation with his club and also starting way off from their actual demand (like half of what they’re asking). And it’s not like it was the first time we made us of these tactics and one of those times was also with them.
So I think just because of us, they will stand their ground and refuse any offer that is even a penny below the 40M€ they asked for.
They likely allowed us to negotiate as otherwise this would violate regulations.
Agreed, it seems that they felt insulted by something that Milan did during the player approach or interclub discussions. If so, it is better for Milan to move on and buy another midfielder. Maybe the Jashari ship has sailed.

No. You can read it up,article 17 of FIFA transfer regulations. Calhanoglu had such a ban before he joined as a prominent example after a contested transfer.
Transfer fees are largely based on Gentleman’s agreement and Brügge are behaving ungentlemanly.

Not as simple as that because had he not paid that fee his football career could have ended right there so I’m pretty sure it would be a far higher fine in nowadays game as he had been bought for a bit over 20 mil back then so basically he could risk the double. As much as I’m irritated by Brugge he is under contract with them and contract are both to protect clubs and players alike and he just renewed his contract with them in January. Look at Leao who breached his contract while he was 19 and had played 3 matches for Sporting we had to pay them roughly 20 mil or he would have risked some trouble.

I know his valuation is 32 mil euros according to transfermarkt even if it isn’t exactly scientific that seems very likely to be on that level and I agree his contract duration would most likely also come into the equation. There is a reason why clubs and players has contracts and that is to protect both parts involved so I certainly wouldn’t want to be in his shoes if he tore his contract apart as he clearly would be in breach of it.

Feel so sorry for the player. Can you imagine that dream to even risk falling out with your employer…that is deep. Both clubs should shoulder the blame for this circus…this could have been handled more professionally with the least amount of trauma to the player. Brugge should have told Milan the player is not for sale if this is some personal vendetta or Milan should have moved on if they knew they would never meet the valuation. They promised Jashari to sell him off if there was a “Record Transfer Fee”. Anything above 37.5 (paid for CDK) is a record transfer fee. Milan are offering 38M, which is indeed a “record transfer fee” in the Jupiter League.
Brugges went back on their word because they got greedy. They don’t have an offer on the table for 40M from the EPL, they just want more money. They are also ignoring the will of Jashari himself, who stated he wants to play for Milan.

I think Club Brugge didn’t hear the ‘No’ from Jashari loud enough, as per going elsewhere aside Milan. If Milan pulls out, which I doubt, they will end up with an unhappy player. He will stay put now, and if other clubs come calling next season, he will turn them down to spite the club. It’s going to be an unhealthy relationship with Brugge, if his desire to join Milan doesn’t come through. Club Brugge are not managing the situation well. As for Milan, they will look else to Club Brugge for future transfers, after all the brouhaha. However, there’s still room for negotiations. All it requires is a little compromise, here and there, despite all that has been said and done.
