GdS: Camarda could be summoned again with Jovic a doubt for Sassuolo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have suffered injury after injury so far this season, and Stefano Pioli must once again battle multiple absences for the game against Sassuolo on Saturday.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes that Gyomber’s foul on Luka Jovic in the second half of Salernitana-Milan could mean that the striker misses the match against Sassuolo.

The Serbian suffered a blow to his foot, which didn’t seem like anything to worry about but instead made him miss yesterday’s training session as he felt too much pain to run with his team-mates. Three days before Milan-Sassuolo, he remains a doubt with a bit of justified optimism.

Today and tomorrow will tell if the pain will ease and Jovic will be able to start the game the bench on Saturday evening, given that the team will train at Milanello again. If he does not make it, Francesco Camarda could be called up again.

Considering the possible returns of Marco Pellegrino and Marco Sportiello, we are left with six certain absentees (Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori, Mattia Caldara, Tommaso Pobega, Noah Okafor), then two are in doubt.

In addition to Jovic, there is Yunus Musah to consider and it seems almost impossible for him to recover and play at the moment, following a muscle issue he picked up during the win against Newcastle United.
