GdS: Cardinale leaves San Siro ‘disheartened’ after Roma defeat – key meetings await

AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale was present to watch the game against Roma last night, and he was understandably disappointed with the result and above all the performance.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) this morning, Cardinale was in the city since yesterday morning and sat in his seat at San Siro for the game against Roma, which ended in a 1-0 defeat after Gianluca Mancini’s first half header.

The RedBird Capital chief would have liked to see a winning and dominant Rossoneri but instead he left ‘disheartened’ after the defeat.

Of course the European journey is far from over because the second leg will take place next week and it is all to play for, but it certainly did not go to plan.

Progress in the Europa League and the derby on 22 April should be the two key things that will guide Cardinale on his next choices, from the coach to the reorganisation of the management.

A day of meetings for Cardinale included a face-to-face discussion with his Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he will leave again today for new business trips.

One, away from Milan, should take him to meet Damien Comolli, the current president of Toulouse who in the future could have a spot in the Milan hierarachy.
