GdS: Chelsea defender’s Milan medical imminent; pursuit of Barcelona outcast on hold

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, a report claims, but the pursuit of a Barcelona defender is on hold.

According to what IS BEING reported by today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Fikayo Tomori could arrive in Milan in the evening, or at the latest tomorrow. There are some details to settle with Chelsea, but the bulk of the operation has been done.

The structure is as follows: Milan will immediately pay €1million to the Premier League side for the loan, and the option to buy must yet be set in stone but it should be slightly higher than €20m. Once the last bureaucratic details have been filed, Tomori will be able to move to Italy.

However, the Rossoneri will have to wait a few more days for Junior Firpo, even if they took an important step during a conference call with Barcelona on Wednesday. The offer of a six-month loan for the full-back is €500k (against the €1m requested by Barça) but there is another hurdle too.

The negotiations are well underway, but it will be necessary to wait until next week to know the next developments. For his part, the boy is honoured by the Rossoneri’s interest, but he wants to understand how much playing time he will have in the coming months.
