AC Milan will take on Inter in the Derby della Madonnina tomorrow and there is still one doubt regarding the starting eleven. More specifically, should Smaul Chukwuexe play from the first minute or not?
The Nigerian has been in very good form since the goal against Hellas Verona a few weeks ago. He got an assist against Lecce and then should have had one against Roma. He followed that up with two great goals against Sassuolo, both of which were ruled out for narrow offsides.
As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), Chukwueze is still in the running for a starting spot as he could replace Christian Pulisic or Ruben Loftus-Cheek. In such an important game, Stefano Pioli needs the best on the pitch and one could argue that the winger is one of them.
With a win, Inter would secure the Scudetto and this is something that Milan will want to prevent at all costs. They will need to play a lot better than what we saw against Roma, though, and it remains to be seen what the response will be.
In case he starts on the bench, Chukwueze will surely be subbed on during the game as he can be of great value.
