GdS: Clause and counterparts – Milan negotiating with Stuttgart over star man

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are negotiating with Stuttgart to sign in-form striker Serhou Guirassy but there are release clauses and player swaps to factor into the discussion.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), Milan are trying hard to sign Guirassy in a way that suits them.

He has got a €17m release clause and whilst that is low for a player who has scored 28 league goals this season in the Bundesliga, Milan are trying to tailor it to their own needs.

A large part of the discussion stems around young defender Jan-Carlo Simic, as Milan are keen to use one of their players to limit the amount of money they have to spend on the striker.

Simic actually was a part of the Stuttgart youth system before he moved to Milan and the German is thought to be keen on the move.

Even if Milan are able to secure a deal with Stuttgart for Guirassy, it could be hard to negotiate terms with the player himself. He is said to want €5m per season which is high for the Rossoneri to pay for what may not even be the starting striker next season if someone like Joshua Zirkzee is also signed.

  1. When you can’t even pay 17 mils and you have to put a counterpart – 18 y old future gem for a 28y old one season wonder. Masterpiece! 🤡🤡
And for those who probably didn’t even watch a single Stuttgart game – that dudes work ethic can be compared to Origis and if it wasn’t for their coach he wouldn’t even score 6

      1. I hope is fake news or is a loan deal like Gabbia to Viareal, selling one of the most promising youngsters to buy a 28 mediocre player is just pathetic.

  2. I still dont understand why we dont just go after david!he has consistenly scored 20+goals for years now.He is 24 and have showed his class for years so should be ready for milan…and he is still young with years left before his prime. Also we can probably get him for only 30 mil thanks to 1 year left on the contract.zirkzee is also a good option at 40 mil and sesko but he will be too expensive.

      1. Not only that. In the first half of the season he was non existent. He was heavily critiqued in the past for lack of consistency. He would be out for half season and then he would start scoring. That’s why a lot of clubs stayed away from him. Plus Milan has similar profile of player in Okafor. Not to mention that every player that had some potential and value left Ligue 1 before turning 22-23. He is 24 and in Ligue 1 for 4 years. He is not worth 30 milions nor he is ready for Seria A.

    1. When the no mark Fonseca shows up I’m sure they will sign the Canadian striker from Lille then wonder why he’s so poor once the man who bought him is sacked after 3 months.

  3. I don’t believe this is true for a minute, but if it were wouldn’t it make more sense to give Pioli a couple of decent signings for the positions he’s been asking for upgrades in, rather than paying a fortune to replace him and not being able to afford to pay the players?

Guirassy is 28 and had a break-out season, his agent better damn well make sure he has the payday of his lifetime and that means looking for big money contracts in England before settling on something else. Has West Ham written all over it.

  4. It is no brainer. Act fast management. This Guirassy is cheap. And can become cheaper with include simic in the deal.

Guirassy is the real moneyball. Good statistic with cheap price.

He also born from french. We can more solidified our french connection in team.

      1. Moneball success implement in america baseball team. But new in europe. Can this moneyball triump.

And it is also fun. One of milan big boss is banker. And i still can not imagin how this management people can make milan winner. I still think with maldini is better, maldini just need to learn how to sell, when it is impossibel to extend the contract of player, example dollaruma who want more more money.

        1. Problem is, Maldini doesn’t know how to be a cold hearted b*stard when it comes to chopping and selling. He was leading with his heart, wanting the best and to win but this business is heartless. Money speaks first, regardless of winning.

          1. Yes. That’s right too. He is too nice. Look how smooth marotta handle icardi case, thats great experience management look like. Unlike maldini who can not handle dollaruma and kessie.

But i have to give high point for maldini, for his heart and dedication to make milan great again. He also right to reacruit a few stars, like leao, theo, maignan, giroud.

          2. Ok I’ll go slow with you. It’s business and there’s no room for emotions here. He wanted to win, these cowboys wanted capital gain. And now we have capital gain and with your “it’s only fake news” Fonseca you will be able to enjoy buy low sell high, capital gains and such bollocks even more.

  5. we are so financially stable that we cant play 17 M without giving away our potential CB lol..where are the maldini haters I wonder..

  6. All these news are making me wonder how stupid this management can be.

Zlatan reputation will be destroyed this year by working with these clowns.

    1. Actual Logical Opinion: maybe wait until any official communication before calling anyone stupid instead of blowing a lid over another media headline?

  7. Why do I get the impression now that Milan become a club who will ask for discount anyway even if (just hypothetically speaking) Mbappe wanted to join Milan, had release clause of 30 mil and he asked 5 milion salary per year (again, this is just example, not reality).
Seriously, Milan is just like an old lady from my home country who will negotiate and ask for discount anyway, even though when the price is already far below standard.
It is in direction from getting smart to being cheap.

  8. If there is any truth to this, it’s more likely accounting games than not wanting to pay the value. It’s probably more like Milan ‘buy’ for 30m and Stuttgart ‘buy’ Simic for 10m, which would mean capital gain for both clubs in the 2025 accounts

  9. I would really be playing hardball if they want Simic ie no fee exchange – Ideally I’d want him to stay and offer Kalulu to bring his price down a bit and offer Simic on a one year loan (no option) to sweeten the deal. That would be win-win for me.
