Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s position at AC Milan has been a heavily debated topic, but it seems he has been looking at the bigger picture recently.
There have been reports periodically about Ibrahimovic’s wavering appearances at Milanello throughout the year, and with him absent from the training ground last week, the questions about his position rose once again.
However, it seems that this was a tactical move made by the Swede. As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, Ibra had been at Milanello before the Milan derby, where the tension was palpable to support the team and show his closeness.
His next appearance was much different, though, even if reports suggested that he would be present to deliver a team talk similarly last week. Instead, that meeting was postponed until this week, and the report has suggested that this is to help Paulo Fonseca.
In Zlatan’s eyes, his interference could add pressure to Fonseca, or diminish some of his authority. This allows the Portuguese head coach to solve his own problems, rather than being the knight in shining armour.
More importantly, though, the Swede wanted to give more credibility to the head coach, allowing the team to see him as the leader, rather than anyone else.
BS! Maldini was there all the time in order to transmit t support, and that is possible without undermining anyone’s authority.
Spot on! Seems ibra realized being in the limelight meant his b.s receives more exposure.
Whatever. Ibrahimovic was undermining Fonseca and Fonseca requested to the owner for him to not interfere with the team.
Ibra met with the team behind Fonseca’s back and it was causing problems. This is why we saw the behavior of Theo and Leao in the Lazio game.
Ibra did the same thing when Pioli was coach the only difference is Pioli didn’t have the courage as without Ibra leadership in the dressing room even when he wasn’t playing was still instrumental in Milan winning the scudetto but things are different now with Fonseca and his staff.
So now Ibra has to back off and not communicate with players behind Fonseca’s back.
You have a source in the locker room or are you just huffing & puffing here?
what is your issue. his opinion on the issue give a more clearer view of what could be. and next you throwing shades.
Fonseca has no issue with the boys in the locker room. he claims leao isn’t 100% fit and he can’t risk having him on the pitch for 90mins
. he did same with Fofana. so why do we react -ve to all news from the club.
