Franck Kessie hasn’t been part of Milan’s pre-season thus far, involved with Ivory Coast in the Olympics, but that will change very soon. In fact, he’s expected at Milanello in the coming days.
Kessie and his Ivory Coast made it to the quarter-finals of the Olympics but were knocked out of Spain, who won 5-2 after extra time. And without any additional vacation, the midfielder will return to Milanello and start training with the Rossoneri.
As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), having Kessie back in training isn’t the only positive for Milan, as the contract renewal now should be resolved. The midfielder has made it clear that he wants to stay and the renewal seems certain.
It remains to be seen when Kessie will be available for the remaining friendlies that the Rossoneri have scheduled. He could perhaps be back for the game against Real Madrid, which is scheduled for next Sunday.
