More information continues to come to light from the Prosecutor’s Office investigation into the conduct of the Curva Nord and Curva Sud, Inter and AC Milan’s ultras groups respectively.

It was announced yesterday that the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office had arrested a number of key figures from the two groups during Monday morning on charges of criminal association, and more information is now coming to light.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPosts), the Curva Sud were making cash quite literally from the ‘thirst’ of the other fans inside the Secondo Anello Blu, which is the section that they inhabit every game behind the goal in the second tier.

One of the extortion demands involved ‘700 beers at €2 each’, particularly linked to the leader of the Curva Sud, Luca Lucci. He allegedly ‘intimidated the bar managers at the stadium’ to secure 700 beers at a total price of €1,500 per match.

What that meant is he was getting the beers at €2.14 each rather than the standard €6 that the rest of the fans are charged. The group would then resell the beers at €5 which meant they were able to profit quite a substantial amount from each sale.

Not only that, but they distributing a coloured ticket that allowed ‘privileged fans’ to skip the line and save €1 on beers. The profit of about €3 per beer went into the group’s accounts, along with other money they made on things like selling tickets.

  1. I really couldn’t care less if they or other gangs sell drugs but forcing local business people or for that matter nay others to comply to what they want and either giving them something or paying protection money is a no go for me and quite frankly they will get what they deserve which hopefully is lengthy prison sentences.
Somebody should have thrown a hand grenade their way when they whistled and boohed Maldini when he retired.

    1. Whoa. Someone woke up today and chose violence.
That’s just a wild comment especially the thing you said you couldn’t care less about and the last sentence. You don’t care about something that is sold that hurts people and you want to hurt people because they booed at a stadium?

      1. Well I probably should have made it a bit more clear that my last comment was said in jest and clearly was meant to be crass but i certainly do find their behavior back then to be one of the most shameless behaviors ever done by fans to one of their own and most legendary players in the history of the entire sport.
In regard of selling drugs I can understand why its illegal as it isn’t really good for society but whatever adults choose to do to their own bodies isn’t of my concern and neither should it be to you.
People make their choices and trust me I’ve been there before as well.

        1. People make their own choices, but most of the people that make those choices made them when they were young and dumb and after that, they were hooked on it. So, no, it isn’t as simple as people make their own choices.
