GdS: Details of Rangnick’s Milan deal and the key reasons the Singer family chose him

By Oliver Fisher -

Everything is in place for Ralf Rangnick to join AC Milan this summer and begin his German revolution of the club, a report claims.

A number of different outlets now agree that Rangnick is the man entrusted by CEO Ivan Gazidis to lead Milan forward, and Boban had his say on the situation, hitting out at Gazidis by stating that the former Arsenal man went behind their backs when initiating contacts with the German manager.

According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting (via MilanLive) though, everything is practically ready for Rangnick to join the club.

The idea of hiring the former Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig boss was in fact born in London in the headquarters of the Singer family. Gordon, the son of Paul and a big football fan, is the one who has decided to turn the page.

There is of course logic behind his potential appointment, the paper continues. In addition to the results obtained in the Bundesliga, his excellent work from the top floors of Red Bull’s football department also played a role.

In fact, Rangnick was mentioned above all for his ability to create long-term projects and in compliance with the club’s needs, which goes perfectly with the low cost policy Elliott wish to deploy.

In Germany, for example, at the helm of Leipzig, he was happy to take a basic salary with a bonus after promotion.

The source adds that the deal on the table is a three-year contract and with an option for a fourth year. The agreement is armoured and there will be a penalty if either party backs out.
