GdS: Developments on renewal expected as Kessie will soon return to Italy – what will be crucial

By Oliver Fisher -

An update has arrived on the renewal situation of Franck Kessie, and it will reportedly be bonuses that are crucial in reaching an agreement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Kessie is expected back at Milanello shortly where he will resume training after being with the Ivory Coast National team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Kessie’s current deal is set to expire on 30 June 2022, which Milan want to extend as soon as possible.

The Ivorian’s requests will be listened to as Frederic Massara – the Rossoneri sporting director – confirmed to George Atangana in a recent meeting. The ex-Atalanta man wants €7m net per season but Milan’s proposal is €6m per year plus bonuses, and it is precisely on how to structure these bonuses that everything depends on.

That is why the player’s return to Italy is important and a decisive acceleration in the talks can be reasonably expected.
