GdS: The worst record in Serie A – discipline becomes a big issue for Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will face Fiorentina after the international break without Olivier Giroud leading the line as he became the latest player to see red this season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) this morning dedicate a section to Milan’s disciplinary issues. After the first 12 rounds of Serie A, Milan is the team with the most red cards in Serie A as they racked up their fourth on Saturday.

The red card received by Giroud at the end of the 2-2 draw with Lecce at the weekend is the third straight red for a Milan player in the current season. Before the French centre-forward was booted, Mike Maignan was sent off in the 1-0 win over Genoa, then Malick Thiaw was in the 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

Fikayo Tomori was sent off on 1 September in the victory over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, but due to receiving two yellow cards rather than committing a straight red offence.
