GdS: Donnarumma makes it clear he wants Milan stay – the latest on his renewal

Gianluigi Donnarumma has made it clear that he wishes to remain at Milan despite the club’s recent struggles and interest from other clubs.

That is according to Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), there is still no talk of sitting down at the negotiating table, but both the club and Mino Raiola are reflecting on what to do and the first contacts have been recorded.

It all starts from one certainty in that Donnarumma wants to stay with the Rossoneri, and Milan continues to be his absolute priority. This is of course music to the ears of Elliott Management, although this alone will obviously not be enough.

It will be necessary to find an economic agreement between the parties, but at the moment a renewal appears to be the only real guarantee for the club considering that there are no concrete offers for the moment.

The solution to satisfy everyone could be a one-year extension so as to postpone the matter and re-negotiate next summer once the world of football has begun to settle down again economically after the impacts of the Coronavirus crisis.

As for the figures, it is possible that it will be below the current €6m-a-year salary. In return however, there may be bonuses that would allow Gigio to reach the same amount if not exceed it.
