GdS: €15m Man Utd man, Modric targeted as Milan eye emergency intervention

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are monitoring the situations of both Luka Modric and Nemanja Matic ahead of possible moves, according to a report.

We reported earlier on Wednesday via our transfer expert Vito Angele that Zvonomir Boban and Paolo Maldini are looking to add some more experience to the current struggling young squad.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milan leadership have their eyes on players that fit exactly that description and who are available on free transfers next summer.

The paper claims that the uncertain future of Franck Kessie (who has been told he can leave, with a €20m price set) and the fluctuating performances of Lucas Biglia and Ismael Bennacer means an ’emergency intervention’ could be required.

Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic is a possible target to ‘give physicality and dynamism’, and he could be available for €15m in January given that he isn’t playing much under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at present.

However, the Serbia international currently earns €7m-a-year, something which presents an obstacle, while Inter are also interested.

Luka Modric remains a ‘dream’ for Boban, and while his salary is also high, the club are thinking of what it could do for ticket and merchandise sales.
