GdS: Economic and sporting results suffer – Elliott pins all blame on Boban ahead of legal battle

By Oliver Fisher -

There has reportedly been a total fallout between AC Milan and Zvonimir Boban, who was dismissed over the weekend by the club.

The Croatian director gave an unauthorised interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport recently during which he hit out at CEO Ivan Gazidis for contacting Ralf Rangnick behind his back over a role at the club.

As reported by the paper (via PianetaMilan) on newsstands this morning, there is a total clash between Boban and Milan. The Elliott fund seems determined to put any recent business and sporting shortfalls completely down to the behaviour of the former Milan player, as he is guilty of having destabilised the environment with an interview that had not been agreed.

The result was seen in the match against Genoa, where Milan were handed a shock defeat by a relegation-threatened side despite the warnings of Ivan Gazidis and Stefano Pioli. For his part, Boban is convinced that he has all the reasons for the case, and is preparing a detailed and full-bodied defensive strategy together with his lawyers.
