GdS: Experience and huge goals – Milan getting ready to welcome Liverpool hero

AC Milan will soon make their first summer signing official as Divock Origi will join on a free transfer, according to a report.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), negotiations with Origi have been open for months and an agreement was found some time ago, meaning the Belgian should be the first signing of the Gerry Cardinale and RedBird era.

Origi is a profile that blends with the diktat from Elliott and the one that will be used by RedBird: sustainable from an economic point of view and functional from a tactical point of view.

Origi has won the Champions League with Liverpool having played a huge hand (three goals across the semi-final and the final), a Premier League, a League Cup, an FA Cup, a European Super Cup and a Club World Cup. He is the man for the big occasions, having netted 6 goals scored in the derby against Everton and also against Barcelona in the Anfield comeback.

Olivier Giroud will welcome the arrival of the Belgian, and the duo will be able to offer different solutions to Pioli, especially given that Origi can also play as a winger if needed. He will sign a four-year contract when his vacation is over, then the new adventure will begin.
