AC Milan are on the verge of completing the signing of Santiago Gimenez, just waiting on the contract signing, but there is still some time left on the mercato. According to a report, the Rossoneri could make more signings.
An agreement was reached with Feyenoord on Friday evening, allowing Gimenez to travel to Milan yesterday afternoon. The striker is currently undergoing his medical tests for the club and will then sign his contract, before watching the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro.
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan might not stop at Gimenez. The midfield is a slight concern, given that Ismael Bennacer is yet to reach top condition and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is injured, so there could be a reinforcement here.
Warren Bondo (Monza) and Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus) have been proposed by intermediaries, but Milan haven’t explored these options yet. After the signing of Gimenez, it’s clear that any signing for midfield cannot weigh heavily on the accounts, which is difficult to achieve but not impossible…
In attack, Joao Felix continues to be linked with Milan and his agent Jorge Mendes is in constant talks with the clubs. The problem is that the Rossoneri don’t want to pay for a loan to Chelsea, and the latter don’t want to let the Portuguese international go without some cash.
In fact, the Blues might not even contribute to the salary, which would make everything complicated. The option remains alive for Milan but as things stand, there are many difficulties to overcome. Also because the likes of Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic are still at the club.

maybe try to get Ricci too, since Torino got Casadei
After we let Calabria go do we not need Italians for the quota in UCL?
Would make sense to go for Ricci tbh
I think Gimenez counts as Italian because he has Italian 2nd nationality
Negative.
The rules are about which club/Nationality systems you come through as a junior. I think up to the age of 21 or 22.
Getting a passport via a parent or grandparent means nothing with these list rules.
Now that there are so many non Italian players come through Italian clubs as primavera. It is going to get very confusing in a few years as to who is eligible to be on the list.
The Italian passport does mean he won’t occupy a non-Eu Slot at least under serie a rules.
Means nothing for UEFA rules though
I’m warming to the idea of Felix, man only because we have Gimenez as striker. Felix could play that 10 role, he’s no prolific goal scorer but is was of those talented ‘forwards’ neither striker nor midfielder. I often find the term forward is the moniker given to strikers who don’t score enough. Perhaps we should see him as a Rui Costa type, someone clever to play in ten attacking line but not rely upon for goals.
Nahh Rui Costa vision, timing, and passing ability is uncomparable to present Portugal squad. Felix may have technique and speed but as a number 10, he didn’t have enough of it.
And Felix has 7 goals this season too so he shouldn’t be as useless as Tammy & Morata either.
Milan style of play is different from Chelsea style of play ,no attacker for now will flourish in milan right now …the wingers and AM at milan are useless and do not have connection with strikers ..gimenez may not shine in milan with the kind of wingers and AM we have (leao is headless and proud ,pulisic looking for self glory ,tijjanni vision less ,) trust me Gimenez may not score up to 10 goals per season
Get Fagioli on loan, send Jovic to Torino for 1mil and have a deal with them to get Ricci in the summer if we cannot outright buy Ricci now.
Not a Fan of Fagioli but on loan, good idea. Maybe a Deal like Kalulu-Juve. We Need an midfelder, Who knows how long Benny oder RLC stay fit.
Unfortunately there are no new Reports, that we get ricci now.
Felix make sense, if we part ways with okafor or chukwueze. I like, that Sergio want him. Lets see, what happens…
Hear hear.
If Emerson and / or Okafor were offloaded I think we’d have a bit more flexibility. It might be the Tomori sale to Spurs if it had happened also would have unlocked something here , due to the usual amortisation tricks employed by pretty much every club these days.
But since nothing major happened on the sales front (Morata out, Gimenez in) I’d be surprised if we bring in another expensive signing. If it’s gonna be a cheap one would prefer a loan, we don’t need to waste €15mn on another RLC 2.0
I feel this is a move we really need to make. We have two additional UCL fixtures now. The team will be fighting hard for the Coppa Italia, and every game in the league is a must-win now. We can’t expect Leão and Pulisic to play all these fixtures without rest.
Everything is so last minute and so reactive.
If you want to get it done at the start of the mercato, you have to pay premium prices and then some. Only English clubs + PSG have the money to do that. Then they´re left with a 1 on 2 success rate (at best) and have half a squad of world class players on the bench they have to offload to clubs like us who have to kerp their books in balance. Football anno 2025
The English press are not reporting this at all, but they are linking Chukwuemeka with a loan move to a bunch of clubs which I think would make this deal impossible because of loan quotas.
Very slim chance this one, I think.
Milan has no money and certainly can’t go toe to toe with Chelsea even if you’re dealing with there rejects all be it this one is in the higher tier reject whom has been found out by higher quality leagues such as Spain and England not to be actually that good certainly not for the money spent.
We’re still ignoring the hole in the middle of the team… i get that Ricci isn’t available ’till the summer so what are we supposed to do till then?
I fear injury for Reijnders/Fofana from overuse …
We can’t do anything. They know they screwed up in the first 3 windows. This is a late attempt to fix it.
So much money wasted on RLC, Musah and Chukwueze – €60 million or so. Ridiculous.
Guler would be a better option than Felix.
I’m not sure Conceicao is the man to take this club forward either. We played better under Fonseca.
Don’t go for Fagioli. He is nothing special. Better get Pobega or Adli back. Or at best get Locatteli from Juve or Luiz, they will need to sell top mid soon. They have too many.
