Rafael Leao has been central to the AC Milan project in recent years. However, his performances have dwindled recently and there is a crossroads situation.
Right now, things are seemingly a million miles away from Leao’s MVP season. The Portuguese is still providing, but not to the level he once was. Milan now get a player in spells, and they are rather inconsistent, rather than the winger who would light up games consistently.
From this, questions about his attitude have stemmed, as have questions about his relationship with the manager, given he has been on the bench regularly in recent games, and for this reason Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes that the winger is ‘at a crossroads’.
It is certainly not a normal situation. Leao, the Rossoneri’s highest-paid player with the largest transfer value, presents an intriguing problem. Against Monza, Paulo Fonseca may decide to bring him back into the squad, but Noah Okafor’s recent performances have given the head coach food for thought.
For this reason, the report questions whether Leao will return to centrality for the Diavolo, or whether a move away could occur. Barcelona and Saudi Arabian clubs are still interested in Milan’s star – perhaps even in January a move could occur – but the future is in Leao’s hands.
It would be an absolute travesty if we were to trade Leao away in January. To me, it would indicate that something is wrong with the coaching staff and the management if they cannot find a way to effectively utilize a player of Leao’s quality. We all know his shortcomings but honestly, there is no other player on the team(with the exception of Theo, who seems in the same boat) with the game-changing potential that Leao possesses. We need to keep him and perhaps look to make changes elsewhere.
Don’t believe all you read online. They won’t loan rafa in the winter. Barca is broke and honestly, they don’t need him and he isn’t going to saudi. No way at 25yo.
Focus on football and forget about music. Even Moise Kean is playing better football at the moment.
Grow up, and start acting like the star that ypu made us believe you are.
He’s not selling enough jerseys in America. Bye bye.
