GdS: Five Serie A clubs fail to pay salaries in time – Milan and Juve well in the clear

By Isak Möller -

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it tough for all football clubs, rich owners or not, as important revenue has suddenly vanished. Then, of course, there are a few clubs that have been hit harder than others.

In today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), it was highlighted that five clubs are yet to pay the salaries since August, which could be a cause for concern. the clubs are Napoli, Lazio, Benevento, Genoa and Sampdoria.

To avoid penalties, they have until December 1st to pay the amount due to the players. That being said, it’s not too unusual, as the last Lega Serie A assembly declared the deadline is December 1st for the last three months.

Milan, along with Juventus, are one of the nine clubs in total that already have paid for both September and October. Inter and Roma, meanwhile, have only paid for September and not October as well.
