Alessandro Florenzi is not at risk of being suspended from playing football after revealing the details of bets he placed during a hearing yesterday, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall that Florenzi presented himself at the Turin Prosecutor’s Office yesterday afternoon and had an interview that lasted just over an hour with the public prosecutor Manuela Pedrotta.
During that, he told his truth about the betting case and assured that he had never bet on football but that he did bet money on other games, including roulette. That means it is a similar situation to that of Nicolò Zaniolo as opposed to Sandro Tonali, who did bet on football and were suspended by the FIGC Prosecutor’s Office.
Florenzi risks a fine on a criminal level for betting on illegal sites, while from a sporting point of view he will not be punished. Obviously this is the case if what he is saying is true and if alternative evidence were found things would change.
The full-back’s was discovered by the chats found on one of the electronic devices seized from the other three players and thus his name emerged in the investigation.
His lawyers, Antonio Conte and Gianluca Tognozzi (the same lawyer Zaniolo has), explained after the meeting in the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Florenzi clarified his position, reiterating his absolute non-involvement in any type of bet on football, nor moreover, no clue or dispute in this sense has emerged,” they said.
“He acknowledged having played on illegal platforms and provided all the clarifications requested to the prosecutor to define his position as soon as possible.”
Even before being questioned, Florenzi assured Milan and his agent Alessandro Lucci that he had never bet on football. The player is described as calm, so much so that yesterday morning he trained at Milanello before going to Turin.
