GdS: Fofana present at Monaco training but wants to force Milan move

By Euan Burns -

Youssouf Fofana has been present at AS Monaco training today but he is still looking to push his move to AC Milan through as soon as possible.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), Fofana has not chosen the path of skipping training to force a move through but he is getting restless when it comes to his future.

Now that he has returned from his holiday following the 2024 European Championship, Fofana would like to have his future resolved and he sees it away from Monaco, where he has just one year left on his contract and has no appetite to sign an extension.

The interest from Milan has been there for a long time and Fofana has already agreed on personal terms that would see him earn €3m per season.

There has been some very clear proof that he is only interested in Milan because West Ham United have actually offered the full €35m that Monaco are asking for, but the move is not getting off of the ground because he is waiting for Milan and Monaco to strike a deal instead.

Milan are thought to be readying a new bid of €20m and a 10% sell-on clause to see if Monaco will accept it.

  1. Good, I think it’s a bit pathetic when high profile players don’t turn up for work because they want a new contract whilst they still have a current one. TBH though, if you’re Monaco, it’s going to come down to whether you can find a replacement which offers some form of value

  2. I can only imagine Fofana’s speech if the deal eventually go through. He will be like, “I’m happy to be here and I’ve always dream of this club”. Like these players got no other statement than this statement.

The funny player who made the comment statement recently is Leny Yoro. You dreamt of a team you clearly rejected while expecting Madrid’s move to materialise

  3. Image the situation was opposite. ACM value a player X, some club offers half of that and the player tries to force the move.

    You would all go bonkers

    1. If the player had one year left on his contract and refused to renew… then I would support the club to make the sale.

    2. its a specific situation. a player with a year left and doesnt want to sign another one. We had a few of those in the last years. Dollar, Romagnoli, The snake, Kessie. They all left on free. And all of those said they wanted to stay, Fofana told Monaco he wanted to leave this summer

  4. I think that Milan cannot afford to buy Fofana. Let’s be realistic. If Monaco will decline this offer so better to focus on other players. Who else? Andre, Pablo Maia or McTominay.
