GdS: Fonseca to hold individual meetings with players over attitudes and errors

Paulo Fonseca is expected to hold some individual conversations with certain members of the AC Milan squad given the concerns about attitude that have emerged.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recall that Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham are among the players who have ended up in the crosshairs after the defeat against Fiorentina, the former because of his misjudged header leading to the winner and the latter because he stole a penalty then missed it.

Fonseca must work on the mentality of his players, because certain errors and especially certain attitudes are not acceptable at a time when he had asked the team for consistency, hoping to build a platform following the derby win against Inter.

The paper adds that while the coach is convinced that the group is not undisciplined, there is something to fix. In addition to the Tomori and Abraham incidents there was Theo Hernandez’s red card at full-time, but also two consecutive yellow cards for Tomori (vs. Leverkusen and Fiorentina) for protests.

Fonseca will have individual discussions – first with those who are already at Milanello and then with those who will return from representing their countries – to understand and correct things, starting with attitudes and ending with the analysis of the errors.

  1. I can’t wait for Ibra to thank Redbird again. So nice to go from a Scudetto winning team with a great atmosphere of camaraderie to that stinky comedy show in perpetual crisis. Thank you so much Redbird.

  2. I would risk playing Liberalli and Camarda… even Bartesaghi and Jimenez, we lack quality fullback (Calabria really deteriorated, Emerson has flashes of what management saw in him but currently really disappointing and Theo doesn’t have a sub) and strikers (we only have 2, Jovic is just a water boy), so risk playing youngsters

  3. The conversations to Tammy and Tomori should go like this. “You are dropped for the next two games. If you pull that crap again you won’t see the pitch anymore. Any questions?”

  4. Several players are unhappy, unmotivated, rebellious, and disunited. When it’s like this, 9 times out of 10, it’s the fault of the coach and the upper management.

Just compare this current sad state of affairs to the united and enthusiastic group that won the Scudetto.

The players share the blame because they’ve been unprofessional and misbehaving but I do believe the root cause of the problem is in those who are above the players rather than within the players.

    1. It is true, but in this particular case not.
You don’t come to an idea “i will steal penalty kick from pulisic” because of menagement or coach ,you get that idea cause u are trash egoist character.

  5. Once u act like an a*shole to ur teammates,u will always be an a*shole ,it just show ur character and egoism, you can offer some fake ‘sorry’ but that teammate knows in his soul that means nothing, forever, no meetings can fix it

  6. It just make so angry that these two “giants” did this to a cool little guy pulisic. I wouldn’t be so angry if they started arguing about penalty on field with someone of their size. But this…the way how he waved his hand to pulisic,o boy….like the true school bully trash boy,his face started to be so punchable in my mind
