GdS: Fonseca to entrust Liberali and Nasti vs. Real Madrid – the team news

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will play the second of their three games in the United States tonight when they take on Real Madrid at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Milan began their tour Saturday night with a 3-2 victory against Manchester City at the Yankee Stadium. Although it was only a friendly, there were a lot of positives from the game, and now another test awaits.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes this morning, it is a game that will have a bit of extra meaning given Milan will come face to face with Carlo Ancelotti and Brahim Diaz again. It will kick off at 02:30 CEST, so it is technically in the early hours of Thursday morning.

In the training session on the eve of the game, Paulo Fonseca tried Mattia Liberali as the starter in an attack with Samuel Chukwueze, Alexis Saelemaekers and Marco Nasti. They are the favourites to start, with Lorenzo Torriani in goal.

The absences include Marco Sportiello (injured), Yacine Adli (physical problem) plus Rafael Leao and Noah Okafor, who remained in New Jersey so that they can continue to get into shape after a post-Euros vacation.

Liberali has been one of the surprises of the summer so far and will get another chance tonight, while Fonseca should put Francesco Camarda on the bench. Ancelotti should start with Endrick and Arda Guler in what could be a talent showcase.

  1. For me Milan don’t need anymore striker.. we have morata we have jovic and nasti plus camada. I don’t think to go for another strike..for no

    1. Honestly this is fair.
If the new striker is another one with sub 15 goals per season and prune to injuries like Abraham and Fullkrug then yes we better not spend that money there specially that in case they didn’t do well there are very limited options to get rid of them.

Either way, it should be Fonseca’s decision and it seems like he is asking for Abraham.
