Mike Maignan is currently recovering from a calf injury and his return is getting closer and closer. In fact, we might even see him in action in one of the friendlies against Arsenal and Liverpool.
Milan will travel to Dubai tonight not just for a training camp but also for the Dubai Super Cup. Maignan will be in the squad and as per Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), he could get a few minutes either against Arsenal or Liverpool.
The medical staff will soon make a decision on the matter but the main goal remains the Salernitana clash on January 4. It’s clear that Maignan won’t be rushed back this time, but if he feels good then we could see him this month.
Stefano Pioli will mainly rely on Antonio Mirante and Ciprian Tatarusanu for the friendlies in Dubai. Milan will face PSV Eindhoven a little later this month and that could be a clash to start for Maignan, as it’s just five days before the league resumption.
