GdS: Future of defensive duo Milan paid €28m for being evaluated by the management

By Oliver Fisher -

Two players could find themselves out of the exit door in the coming months as their positions at the club are being evaluated, a report claims.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Leo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio’s futures with the Rossoneri are far from certain.

The position of the two defenders is being examined by the management, as for various reasons they have both ended up on the sidelines of Stefano Pioli’s plans and both seem assets without much use at the moment.

The Argentine has just come back after a long injury, but it is not certain that he will end the season at Milan given that his contract expires in June 2021 and there are reports of interest from Spain.

As for Duarte, he too has struggled with injuries since his arrival from Flamengo in summer 2019, but he has not impressed when called upon.

As per Wikipedia the Rossoneri paid €10m to land Duarte, and Goal report that Musacchio cost €18m back in 2018.
