Ivan Gazidis will be the man in charge of putting the final stamp on negotiations until the closing of the takeover is complete, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) confirms that talks are on with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara over the extension of their current contracts which expire on June 30. The new majority shareholder – Gerry Cardinale of RedBird Capital – will return to Italy soon to meet with the management, but in the meantime there are no worries because he trusts the current Elliott Management regime to take care of things.
The actual passage of the majority of shares of the club from Elliott to RedBird Capital should occur in September and therefore until then the operations and power of signature will remain with CEO Ivan Gazidis.
He will be the man to sign the renewal of Maldini and Massara’s contract with Milan as well as those of Geoffrey Moncada (head of scouting) and any new signings such as Divock Origi, Renato Sanches and more.
