GdS: Genoa a chance for redemption as Milan consider Chukwueze a starter

AC Milan signed Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal this summer and the Nigerian was the most expensive signing of the summer. The Rossoneri are now hoping that the winger can redeem himself against Genoa.

Including bonuses, Chukwueze was the most expensive player of the summer at €20m plus €8m in bonuses (read our summer breakdown on Substack). So far, however, the 24-year-old has not really impressed.

Apart from a good outing against Newcastle, the Nigerian has struggled and this was evident in the game against Dortmund, as he missed the biggest chance of the game. As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan), tomorrow’s clash against Genoa could be the perfect opportunity for Chukwueze.

Milan didn’t sign him as a backup for Christian Pulisic, as the newspaper continues, and want to see the player they saw at Villarreal in 1v1 situations. The winger himself knows that he must do better and it would be great to shine ahead of the international break.
