GdS: Giampaolo to make key change to help Piatek out of slump

AC Milan head coach Marco Giampaolo is reportedly working on one thing in particular regarding striker Krzysztof Piatek.

There are worries about the form of the Poland international, who did not score a single goal in preseason and is yet to find the back of the net in Serie A through the first two games.

Piatek did net 22 goals last season in the league when including the first half of the season he spent at Genoa, and is expected to be a vital piece of Giampaolo’s puzzle this campaign.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday (via MilanNews.it), Giampaolo is considering changing his system slightly in order to help Piatek get out of his slump.

The head coach apparently wants to bring Milan’s number 9 ‘back to the heart of the area and closer to the opponent’s goal’, something which suggests a change to 4-3-3 is on the cards.
