GdS: Hernandez, Leao and Pulisic to miss Milan’s friendly against Roma

By Isak Möller -

The 2023-24 season has come to an end for AC Milan and the fans will soon get to focus solely on the summer mercato. However, there is one thing left: the friendly against Roma in Australia, which some key players could miss.

The friendly was announced a couple of months ago and it’s now just a week away, scheduled for Friday. It will be played in Perth, which is six hours ahead of Italy, and kick-off will thus be 13:00 for us Europeans.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Daniele Bonera will be the head coach for Milan but he could travel with a decimated squad. The departing players, such as Olivier Giroud and Simon Kjaer, should not be included even if the Frenchman’s words last night give hope to the Australian fans.

A decision is yet to be made on the likes of Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao, as well as the other Euros participants, but it seems they will miss the game. Christian Pulisic has definitely been ruled out as he will be busy with commercial initiatives with the club.

Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, on the other hand, are two players who will travel with the squad to the land down under. More details on the squad will emerge once we get closer to the game, but the Aussie fans should not expect all of the stars.

  1. Why the fahk would any of the player want to travel half way across the world for a meaningless friendly 5 days after a busy season ended… Idiotic.

The starting players should all skip.
