GdS: How Milan could line up with Frattesi – formation change likely

There is a lot of speculation suggesting that AC Milan are trying hard to sign Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo as ‘Operation Replace Tonali’ kicks into gear.

According to the latest from Sky, the first contacts between the CEO of Milan Giorgio Furlani and his Sassuolo counterpart Giovanni Carnevali for Frattesi took place today, with a battle against Inter now underway.

That follows a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning which stated that a battle has broken out between Milan and Inter over the signing of the 23-year-old Italian midfielder.

The paper (seen below) hypothesise how Milan could look without Tonali and with some targets arriving. They foresee a switch to a 4-3-3 with Frattesi as the right-sided central midfielder, then the possibility of Chukwueze and Thuram or Lukaku in the attacking department.

Potential Milan XI with Frattesi: Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Frattesi, Krunic Pobega; Saelemaekers (Chukwueze), Giroud (Thuram, Lukaku), Leao.
