GdS: Familiar formation, three additions – how Milan could line up under Fonseca

AC Milan should soon announce Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach and more signals continue to filter out regarding the system he plans to play, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fonseca is currently in Portugal with his family having a break after the season that has just finished, but he should sign his contract in the next 10 days and in the meantime talks with the management are continuous.

CEO Giorgio Furlani was in London two days ago for the Champions League final and there too he worked on the future. According to Milan’s plans, they will not go on A crazy spending spree in the summer but they will certainly invest, above all in a new striker.

The idea is to sign a right-back who is better going forward, a central defender and a defensive midfielder, useful for the Portuguese coach’s possession-based style of football. He will use a 4-2-3-1 and/or a 4-3-3, in which he alternates pressing and defending.

The paper also predict how next season’s team might look, with Emerson Royal or Tiago Santos to come in on the right side of the defence, Youssouf Fofana in the midfield double pivot and one of Serhou Guirassy, Benjamin Sesko or Santiago Gimenez leading the line.
