GdS: How Milan should line up against Juve and PSG with rotation expected

By Isak Möller -

After the break, AC Milan will take on the likes of Juventus, PSG and Napoli in the space of just seven days. Therefore, some rotation is expected and Stefano Pioli has already started thinking about the XIs, a report claims.

The international break might sound nice on paper, as reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, but the truth is that there isn’t much rest involved. At least not for Milan’s stars, who currently are out on international duty.

Rotation is thus expected for the games after the break, especially since Pioli will have  Pierre Kalulu, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Rade Krunic back at his disposal. In the photo below, you can see the two predicted XIs for the Juve and PSG games.

Krunic is in pole position for the Juventus game but Yacine Adli will certainly continue to get playing time. As for the No.9 role, it’s clear that Olivier Giroud won’t be able to start every game and thus Luka Jovic will be the starter in one of the three games.

Yunus Musah should play from start against the Bianconeri, giving Loftus-Cheek a few more days ahead of the PSG and Napoli. The exception to the rotation is Tijjani Reijnders, who played a lot with AZ Alkmaar last season and can handle a more hectic period.

  1. We absolutely need our best team in their best condition vs PSG as we need a result.

I think we need to start more of our “back up” players v Juve and get the “starters” in top shape for PSG.
After those 2 games we can assess the condition of the squad for Napoli and pick our 11 based on that.

It’s one hell of a week

  2. Have no fear Olivier Giroud will be there …
He is the top man ..
    Scuddeto champions this year ..
We will all be singing the queen song .” We are the champions we are “ …

    1. Seriously dude, he is better as a goal keeper than striker these days!
Okafor already has 2 goals from open play (Giroud 1)
I hope he will start v PSG as we will need players with pace

      1. I think starting Okafor v. PSG at striker isn’t a bad idea. Let Giroud play against low block Juventus. Meanwhile, non-footballer Jovic should see no more than 10 minutes of action at the end of the Juve game for Giroud. Giroud can then come on as the sub against PSG if Okafor tires out.

      2. No Giroud is the main man ….
This will be proven at the end of this season ..
Don’t know what football ⚽️ you have been watching.,but if you were to understand the game ,and have been as involved as I have with the game for a number of years ..
So pioli is the manager and he understands the quality of Giroud …if you follow what a say ,and indeed a couple of seasons ago ..I said that we would win the scuddeto which we indeed did ,..yes and much of this was down to the great technicality ability of Olivier ,and indeed the crucial goals he scored …look at last season , again much to do with Giroud we reached the champions leauge semi final …not saying we will do that this season ..
But what I am saying is that I fully believe and expect us to win the scuddeto again this season ..that is progress.
I also said this season we have bought some amazing players such as pulisic , and indeed the player I think will be our best signing and that is Loftus cheek
We need pulisic ,,,Rafeo leao ,and Olivier Giroud as our main strikers..
        I am AC Milan
