GdS: Ibrahimovic believes in the Scudetto and asks for ‘courage’ from his team-mates

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made it a minimum goal to return to the Champions League next season, but he wants to go even further.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Swede accepted the challenge and wants to take his beloved Rossoneri back into Europe’s elite league, but doing it as a champion would have a different flavour.

The word ‘Scudetto’ is no longer a taboo in the Milan home: Ibrahimovic believes in the idea and has passed on his enthusiasm and determination to his younger team-mates, who are beginning to take that mentality too.

“Milan must have the courage to dream of it,” said Zlatan, who received the Legend award at the sixth edition of the Gazzetta Sports Awards. “This is a team that is hungry, wants and wants even more.”

It is a clear sign that he believes in the group around him and that they can achieve things this season that nobody else thought they could.

Yesterday, Ibrahimovic trained in a group for the first time after a muscle injury he sustained in Naples, and the Milan striker knows that he is close to returning, but this probably will not happen on Wednesday in Genoa (final decision today).

The doctors do not want to take any kind of risk, and therefore Ibra will certainly be there on Sunday against Sassuolo but perhaps not before.
