GdS: Ibrahimovic has decided to stay at Milan – work underway on possible two-year deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to stay at AC Milan and the Rossoneri wish to keep the striker, but an agreement must still be reached on a new deal.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Ibrahmovic’s new contract could start from a base of €5million plus bonuses linked to goals, appearances and club results, so as to reach the €6m demanded by the Swede.

The contacts between the management including Paolo Maldini and the agent of the player Mino Raiola are continuous and the decisive meeting could be staged in the next few days.

On Saturday, Ibrahimovic will play the last match of the season and immediately after he will go on vacation, entrusting his future to his agent.

The new deal that he signs could even be a two-year one, with an executive option for the second season. Zlatan still has a great desire to play and – as he explained after his brace against Sampdoria – still feels young on the field. The question now is who he plays for, but his main priority is Milan.
