GdS: Ibrahimovic heading towards retirement as Milan renewal fades

By Isak Möller -

The future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to be decided, just like many of his AC Milan teammates. His contract will expire in the summer, and depending on how the season ends, he may have played his last game already.

Since his arrival in January, the Rossoneri have improved a lot, making use of the Swede’s experience and mentality to recover from a poor first half of the season. However, the 38-year-old’s contribution might come to an end this summer.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Ibrahimovic will most likely retire at the end of the season. It’s difficult to image him signing a contract renewal with the Rossoneri.

Certainly, the Coronavirus emergency has put things in perspective. It’s safe to say that the Milan fans will be forever grateful for his two spells at the club. By the looks of it, he’s ready to put an end to what has been an extraordinary career.
