GdS: Ibra’s charisma and quarrels just what Milan want – his renewal to arrive within 48 hours

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is Milan’s leader and although he occasionally gets involved in drama the club wouldn’t have it any other way, a report claims.

As this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport writes (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic is the soul of Pioli’s team and the real leader. When he returned to Italy back in winter of last year, he gave the Rossoneri a great hand by leading the Pioli revolution not only through goals but by instilling a winning mentality too.

Ibra shows support for team-mates and has had some “slips” along the way, but Zlatan is like that and Milan would not have him any other way. The Swede has a “dark side” and sometimes he loses his head, talks to the referees or quarrels with opponents, but the paper writes that it is part of him being “different” from the other top players.

Ibra likes to wage war on the pitch showing that there is a rough and ready side to his genius, which is all part of the aggressive and winning mentality that he has done so well to convey. Milan cannot and do not want to do without the personality of Zlatan, and as such the signing of his renewal could arrive today or tomorrow.

His relationship with Pioli is strong, as is his partnership with Maldini and Massara – and now Gazidis too – so there are all the conditions to go forward together and still do well.
