GdS: Inter to pick up Milan’s abandoned pursuit of Chelsea midfielder

Since Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s departure, AC Milan have dropped some of the negotiations that the two were carrying out. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of them, who now could join city rivals Inter instead.

Loftus-Cheek seemed poised to join the Rossoneri in a deal worth around €18m, but then Milan decided to sack both Maldini and Massara. The negotiation has now been fully abandoned, by the looks of it, but the midfielder could end up in Milano anyway.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Inter are interested in joining the race for the Englishman. The latter still needs to find a new club and the Nerazzurri could get a deal similar to the one Milan was offered.

As for Milan’s midfield pursuit, Davide Frattesi is one of the names on their list and there will even be a meeting next week. The 23-year-old would be a great signing for the Rossoneri, much better than Loftus-Cheek on paper.
